Pros

Very fast attackers, nearly as fast as Rogues.
Interesting abilities, as well as getting a mob attack during first job.
Gunslingers can hover in the air for a short period of time.
In first job, pirates have a useful dash ability that can accelerate movement speed.
In the Infighter job, the user has physical mob attacks.
Infighters have more HP than Bandits and more MP than warriors.


Cons

Gunslingers do low damage.
A little bit difficult to get used to, very different than other jobs.
The Float ability is not so useful if trying to get out.
The pirate equipment is a little bit expensive for a beginner.
Infighters lack the mobility of Bandits, and also must be closer to attack.

Why Pirate?

Don't you want flashy skills?
Don't you want fast attacks?
And the Job is New!
Combination of Warriors and Bandits OR Combination of Bowman and Sins.

Gunslingers are ranged and quick. Their bullets function like a sin's throwing stars and some are elemental and rare. They have a skill later on that allows them to bomb the whole map with random damage at random enemies.
(And its MapleSEA's mentality that fast attackers are good.)

Infighters bump onto monsters a lot and does not have high initial HP. Good skill, equips and buffs usuage are required. Thus, it is wise that you plan out your skills first. If you are the type that play your characters rashly, trying to deal maximum damage like how you play your Night Lord and Dark Knight, this class is definitely not for you.

So now I hope you can decide which class is easier out of the two.

Creating your Character

For Pirate AP distribution, take this:
This is the best one

STR: X
DEX: X
INT: 4
LUK: 4

STR and DEX can be anything
Note that A min of 20 DEX is needed for Job Advancement

Raising AP

For InFighter,
DEX= level
STR as high as possible

For Gunslinger,
STR= level
DEX as high as possible

AP Distribution For Infighter:

Add anything but at level 10, you should have the following:

Add anything but at level 30, you should have the following:

AP Distribution For Gunslinger:

(you can afford to have slightly more STR first to train at Maple Island)

Your Skills:

Dash
Type: Active
Description: Momentarily increases speed and jump by double-tapping either the left or the right directional key.

Level 1: MP -14; Increases speed and jump for 4 seconds
Level 5: MP -10; Increases speed and jump for 12 seconds
Level 10: MP -5; Increases speed and jump for 20 seconds

Press left or right arrows twice to temporarily boost speed and jumping ability.

Double Fire
Type: Active
Description: Attacks the enemy by firing two rounds at once.

Level 1: MP -4; Damage 61% x 2 Hits, attack range 215
Level 10: MP -5; Damage 70% x 2 Hits, attack range 275
Level 20: MP -7; Damage 80% x 2 Hits, attack range 350

Fires two bullets at once to apply double damage to monsters.

Quick Motion
Type: Supportive
Description: Increases accuracy and avoidability by up to 20 points.

Level 1: Accuracy and avoidability +1.
Level 10: Accuracy and avoidability +10.
Level 20: Accuracy and avoidability +20.

Increase accruacy and avoidability.

Straight
Type: Active
Description: Quickly attacks the enemy with fists.

Level 1: MP -6; Damage 156%
Level 10: MP -9; Damage 210%
Level 20: MP -14; Damage 270%

Use MP to speed up the punch to rapidly attack enemies.

Somersault Kick
Type: Active
Description: Attacks multiple nearby enemies with legs by jumping and spinning backwards.


Level 1: MP -8; Damage 114%, attack up to 3 monsters.
Level 10: MP -11; Damage 150%, attack up to 4 monsters.
Level 20: MP -16; Damage 190%, attack up to 6 monsters.

One:

Somersault Kick at level 11 because 2nd job will have punches that allow hitting of multiple enemies. Not good for training at Maps with high spawn rate.

Leaving Straight at Level 11 will not be good for those training, hitting 1 mob at 1 time. However, good for those training at places with high spawn rate, hitting multiple mob at 1 time.

Another Possibility:

Moving speed may be slower but is good as you can attack better, hitting both single and multiple mobs. Transformer (3rd job skill) will help you gain speed later on. Double Fire is Level 1 because Level 1 Dash will screw up your pirate.

Somersault Kick is recommended because Flash Fist is a knuckle based attack.
This means that you can perform Somersault Kick with any weapons, even with a snowboard!
Flash Fist will require a knuckle, so its troublesome for you to keep changing weapons.
